How Folder Subscription Works

Folder subscriptions allow you to choose which folders appear in your cPanel/email client interface and also allow you to create new folders. Many people do not know about this feature because when they set up their email account all the folders in their account are shown and that is what they want and expect. However, some situations might present themselves where you wish to have some created folders hidden or you just want your pane to look neat. In WebMail, you can create new folders, move your emails to these folders, or simply create an automated email filter that sends emails. If you do want to see a folder in your listed items, you will need to check the folder, likewise, if you do not wish to see a folder in your listed items, you can uncheck the folder. If a folder( Sent, Trash, Drafts, Junk and other IMAP folders) is missing, please subscribe to them again and they will appear. Below we will look at the settings in Webmail(Roundcube and Horde), Thunderbird and Outlook; other email programs are similar though. To manage your folder subscriptions in Webmail(Roundcube)

Click on ‘Settings’ on the left-hand side pane
Select ‘Folders’ from the options available
On this page, you can create, delete, check or uncheck a folder( please note that the default folders like Inbox, Drafts, Sent, Junk, Trash, and Archive cannot be deleted or altered, they are server folders)
Upon checking the box you wish to subscribe to, you will get a notification at the bottom of the screen acknowledging the action that has just taken place

Unsubscribing from a folder means the folder has not been checked, so remember to uncheck the box in front of the folder you wish to unsubscribe from. A notification acknowledging the action you just took will appear at the bottom of the page. Subscribing to Folders in Webmail(Horde)

Log into Webmail using Horde,
Click the drop-down arrow in front of Folder Actions
You can create, expand, collapse, show all and rebuild mailboxes depending on the action you wish to take

Subscribing To Folders in Thunderbird

The folders you subscribe to are the ones displayed by Thunderbird. It subscribes to every folder it finds when you first set up the account and any folder you add to it.
Go to the File menu and click the Subscribe option
Select desired folders.
Click Subscribe.
Click OK.
New folders can now be accessed from the Folders list on the left side.

To view all folders regardless of subscription status, we recommend that you follow the steps below.

Click on your account name,
Go to Settings.
Choose Server Settings.
Click Advanced.
We recommend that you uncheck the option to Show only subscribed folders as this can cause some folders to be hidden in Thunderbird.
Once you are done, click OK and restart Thunderbird

Subscribing to Folders in Outlook

Click the Tools menu, then on click IMAP Folders
Click the Query button.
Select the desired folders.
Click the Subscribe button. Click OK.
New folders can now be accessed from the Folders list on the left side.

Subscribing to Folders on Mac OS X Mail(Mac Mail)

Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts.

Select your email account and click the Advanced tab.
Make sure the IMAP path prefix is set to INBOX.
Close the Preferences panel and save.
Restart the entire mail program.
