In cPanel you can manage your FTP, Email, and, Web Disk users using a single interface. You can merge accounts(email, FTP, and Web Disk) into a single Subaccount add new users, edit existing users, link existing users, and delete them using the User Manager in cPanel. This interface does not allow you to create new cPanel accounts, you need a Reseller package or server administrator privilege for this. Add Subaccount In order to manage Subaccounts in User Manager follow the instructions below:
  • Login to cPanel-> Preferences-> User Manager.
  • Click on Add User.
  • Enter the user information for the new Subaccount(Full Name, Username, Domain, Contact Email Address. )Please note the system sends account notifications and password reset confirmations to this email address.
    You can either let the system set the password for you by choosing The user will set the account password or manually setup the password by choosing Set the user’s password.
  • Click on Create to finish, or Create and Add Another User to add another account
  • Go to Services and enable what is required. Subaccount Services
You will be prompted by the system to either link or cancel a new account during creation if the Subaccount username tallies with an existing Email/FTP/Web Disk username To link the account with the Subaccount, follow these steps:
  • Click on Link, the existing Email/FTP/Web Disk account will be automatically attached to the Subaccount
  • Click on Dismiss if you do not wish to link the account with the Subaccount
Email service allows you to enable the Subaccount’s email address, for example, username@testing.com
  • The Quota option defines how much hard drive space the Subaccount may use to store emails.
FTP service allows you to manage your website’s files, for example, username@testing.comFTP account.
  • The Quota option defines how much space the Subaccount user may use in their home directory.
  • The Home Directory allows you to specify the Subaccount’s FTP home directory.
  • The Web Disk utility allows you to manage and manipulate files on your server using multiple devices
  • The Home Directory allows you to change the Subaccount’s Web Disk home directory.
  • Permissions allow you to specify the Subaccount’s home directory permissions:
  • Read-Write — This setting allows the Subaccount access to read, download, list and write files inside the directory.
  • Read-Only — This setting allows the Subaccount access to read, download and list the files inside the directory.
If you use these Windows versions (Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 10), you must enable Digest Authentication in order to access Web Disk over a clear text, unencrypted connection. if the domain uses a signed SSL certificate, then you need not enable Digest Authentication How to Login to Subaccount You can easily log in to your Subaccount’s email and FTP using the credentials which you have entered while creating a user. The user will set the account password when you created the Subaccount, follow the steps in this guide to set their password. After you create a Subaccount, you can use several methods(webmail, FTP, web disk) to access it: a. Login to webmail:
  • To login to the webmail of the Subaccount, enter the URL as domainname:2096 or s585.lon6.mysecurecloudhost.com:2096, this directs you to your webmail login page.
  • Now Enter the Subaccount username and password.
b. Login to FTP:
  • Download a FTP client like FilezZilla
  • Open FileZilla or any other FTP client.
  • Go to File and then Site Manager.
  • Click New Site and enter the credentials as:
    Host: IP Address of your cPanel account/server.
    Port: Leave blank or use default port 21.
    User: Enter the Subaccount username with the domain name(username@domainname)
    Password: Subaccount password

  • Click the Edit option underneath the User you choose
  • Manage the following Subaccount properties within this section:
    Full name — First and last name of the Subaccount user
    Contact Email Address — A different email address for the Subaccount’s user
    Security Information — Change Password
    Email, FTP and Web Disk — The Subaccount’s access to email, FTP, and Web Disk services
How to Delete Subaccount Click on Delete and then verify that you wish to delete the account. Deleting a Subaccount removes all of the Subaccount’s services.
